Rachel Maddow breaks it down so simply that an 8th grader could understand it:
ExxonMobil is more profitable than Walmart, Google, McDonald’s, American Express and Goldman Sachs combined
Exxon’s fine for the oil Pegasus Pipeline spill in Arkansas is only a tiny fraction of its daily profit
Again, Exxon paid just a tiny fraction of its daily profit for the entire Yellowstone oil spill
This begs (at least) three questions: Why does the U.S. Government even subsidize oil companies in the first place? Why doesn’t our government have more serious fines for oil spills? AND ARE WE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING THE KEYSTONE PIPELINE?!? REALLY? NO, REALLY?
The Keystone Pipeline will absolutely, positively spring a leak already has sprung several leaks
The oil industry has no clue how to clean up or prevent the leaks and they aren’t even exploring new technologies for oil spill clean ups
The KXL Pipeline will go through a MAJOR clean water drinking aquifer. Is America so stupid to “drill baby drill” that we’re willing to endanger our most valuable non-renewable resource —water— for a finite fossil fuel that wind and solar tech will ultimately replace?

This needs WAY more notes.

This sweet girl was dropped off at my Dad’s work today, she is about 9months old based on her teeth and development. She will probably be a 35-40lb dog when fully grown and nourished. She has been very clearly abused, she’s covered in cuts and scrapes and a case of mange that needs to be treated. We cannot take her on, we have two dogs her size already and this house just can’t support her. She is a sweet dog who responds well to attention and just wants a little bit of love. If you or anyone you know is willing to help out this sweet girl in the Wichita, Kansas area, please contact me immediately so we can get her somewhere safe.
Even if you can’t help, please reblog and signal boost this sweet baby girl.

Awwww :(

whether or not you “believe” signal boosting works, pass this shit on - you’ve got nothing to lose while she’s got everything to gain.
Reblog if you think gay marriage should be legal.

The most fun runs are the ones through the woods like you’re on an adventure!

Vicky Form is a Mexican lingerie company that has recently released a campaign called ”New commandments for women.”
They read,1. I shall never call another woman a whore.2. No one can convince me from not wearing a condom.3. I shall never get pregnant just to keep a man by my side.4. No one can judge me based on the number of people I’ve slept with.5. Is my responsibility to fight for my own (woman) rights.6. I will not tolerate any kind of violence towards myself.7. I will not fear or be ashamed if I find myself attracted to woman.8. It is my decision if i want to get married or not. (and don’t deserve to be judged for it.)
I find this campaign to be a ‘big deal’ for the fact that is released in Mexico. One of the most sexists, closed minded and underdeveloped countries in the world.
Not so many companies take the risk to make advertisements like this because they’re obviously going to be criticized and possibly be affected by it.Someone is taking the risk, telling the truth, and trying to get to the minds of the people. Sharing the fact that we are all human, and have to be equally treated like it, leading to a better and more developed society. Its a big step for Mexico, and for women.
